Domaine Ferraton – La Tournée Rosé 2018
The story
La Tournée refers to the delivery round of wines by the domaine; therefore the first delivery car of Ferraton is featured on the label (you can still see this old Peugeot 202 at the reception of the domaine). But La Tournée also means ‘giving a round’ so treating your friends to a glass of wine. That is what this friendly wine aims to do; connecting people in an informal setting with nice food and nice wines.
The Grenache vines for this wine are located on clay and calcarous hillsides and the Cinsault from sandy plains, in the Herauld and Gard area, in de Languedoc in the south of France. The harvest is done at night to prevent the grapes from oxidation and preserve optimum freshness. The grapes are then directly pressed without maceration, and the wine is cooled down and left on fine lees. Then the wines are aged in stainless steel vats, again preserving its freshness.

About the wine maker
The land and the people who tend it share the same history. A history which grows from generation to generation. At the origin, one man, Jean Orëns Ferraton. Vigneron, and son of a vigneron. A region basked in sun, the Rhône Valley. It was 1946.
Michel, his son, inherited the same passion. He decided to give a new dimension
to his father’s vineyards. The first Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph
Ferraton were brought into the world. A close friend of the Ferratons’, Michel Chapoutier brought his know-how. In 1998, the vineyards were converted to organic viticulture, then certified, before embracing the culture of bio-dynamics. Nowadays Damien Brisset is responsible for winemaking and vineyard management.
