Alexis Pollier was only 21 when he made his first vintage in 2015, working on a few tiny plots in Saint Véran, Pouilly Fuissé and Macon. Growing up and working in the vineyards of his father, he realized the future is in biological viticulture.
This Macon Villages is a fantastic wine and like his other wines it already has a distinct character (2018 is his fourth vintage!) that has given him acclaim in the wine world. Pure on the fruit, dry minerality with razor-sharp acidity wrapped in a thin layer of honey. His Macon Villages has not seen any oak, as it is vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks. To add complexity and intensity to the wine he occasionally stirred the lees. This is a winemaker to watch and a superstar in the making!
Very precise, stylishly floral and mineral on the nose. Fresh acidity and layers of crisp apple, citrus fruits and yellow plum covered by a smooth layer of honey. Lovely now, but plenty of energy for the years to come.
